What Is Chalet Alpina?
Chalet Alpina is a new luxury resort and residential development at the base of Aspen Mountain in the historic Lift One corridor. The project is planned to bring together private residences, Shared-Ownership Resort Residences, dining, private club amenities, and direct access to Aspen Mountain.
Chalet Alpina encompasses approximately 200,000 square feet of gross floor area across roughly two and a half city blocks at the base of Aspen Mountain. It is part of the broader Lift One Corridor redevelopment, which encompasses more than 320,000 square feet of gross floor area, including Chalet Alpina, the Aman project, restored historic buildings, and other commercial, lodging, and residential components.
More than a new residential development, Chalet Alpina is being created around one of Aspen's most historically significant ski locations, combining mountain access, resort services, and a new generation of ownership at the base of Aspen Mountain.

The scale of the Lift One redevelopment extends well below ground. Plans call for excavation approximately 60 feet into Aspen Mountain to accommodate foundations and multi-level underground parking—an unusually complex engineering undertaking in the heart of downtown Aspen.
The historic Skiers Chalet Steakhouse is planned to be relocated, restored, and revived as a restaurant, while the historic Skiers Chalet Lodge will become the Aspen Snowsports History Museum at Skiers Chalet, along with skier services.
Together, these projects are expected to reshape the connection between downtown Aspen and the mountain.
Design
Chalet Alpina brings together an accomplished development and design team. The project is being developed by Irongate in partnership with Aspen-based HayMax Capital. Irongate is known for luxury resort destinations including Costa Palmas in Los Cabos, while HayMax is behind the Mollie Aspen Hotel.
Chalet Alpina's architecture is led by Guerin Glass Architects, the Brooklyn-based firm whose work includes the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, and Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas. The design is intended to bring contemporary mountain architecture to Aspen while respecting the history, character, and natural setting of the Lift One area.
Chalet Alpina's interiors are designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the internationally renowned London-based firm known for distinctive luxury hotels, restaurants, and private residences around the world.
The interiors are envisioned as a warmer, more expressive interpretation of Aspen luxury, moving away from the cool minimalism of white, gray, and chrome. Rich natural materials, warm woods, brass accents, and distinctive pink and green marble details are expected to bring depth, color, and individuality to the residences while maintaining a strong connection to the mountain setting.
Together, the development and design teams are creating a new expression of alpine luxury at the base of Aspen Mountain.
